Kyoto Day 3 - Arashiyama Monkey Park

Join us as we enter the monkey park. Admittedly, it was a little scary walking up the mountain path, which was well shaded by tall trees. We didn't know exactly what to expect, but we knew we wanted to see monkeys. We were not disappointed...

The final video installment of the Kyoto trip will be posted soon.
Enjoy!

WOOOOOOHHOOOOOOO!!!!!! MONKEY!!!!

Wow those guys were so fearless of you. Not to mention so calm too, they weren't throwing anything around at all (that I saw). That must have been so clue! I can't wait to see the last bit.

So cool, guys! It's neat that you were able to get so close to them. With the monkeys at work, I always have to wear like 25 layers of protective clothing, and even at that, I'm always on the other side of the bars from them... it's just not the same!

Ah, monkeys. I like monkeys. I'd like to share the video with my class is that ok?

Wow that video was out of this world. Just listening to the sounds they make, it really did sound like you were being surrounded. It was almost frightening.
You were lucky with the camera and the flash....reminders of Banff where the Elk was attacking the guy with the camera. Watching Ian get so close I was worried that the monkeys would react like the elk.

I got a bit of a "Blair Witch" vibe at about 1:47.

I thought the coolest thing was them walking along that blue mesh fencing. Don't ever get into a balance contest with a monkey.

hahaha yeah me and Luke thought the fence thing was kewl too haha.

It is really amazing how close they got to you guys. It's funny, you guys were like the animals nervously running out of the way. Strange role reversal I think haha.

Dave - Yes, they seemed calm, but it was still a bit scary. That's the closest I'VE ever come to monkeys!

Derrick - True, but that has potential to be a great movie.

AJ - SET THEM FREE!!! Then you can run around in the wild with them.

Des - They do make a lot of funny sounds. You can hear it even more in the next clip...in....the forbidden monkey playground!!!

Aaron - Good advice. Surprisingly, several of the monkeys asked me to have a balance contest with them. Unfortunately it was not captured on film.

Meaghan - did you notice the part where I bump into Tara as I'm fleeing the Monkeys??? What a chicken I am!

Arlene - Wow that's really weird! We also saw Bruce Willis at the monkey park. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN???
