Not Like Christmas At All

Christmas and New Year's have passed by quietly and it was harder then ever not to be at home with our friends and families. On Christmas Eve one of my closest friends died in a car accident. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones now.

(Here are Aaron and I discussing love, life, and beer in a pub. I think this picture is from our first year of university - about 6 years ago.)
Aaron was the most reliable friend you could ask for. He was honest and genuinely kind to everyone who knew him. He worked hard, and was good at everything he tried - from guitar to rock climbing, to his PhD studies in biology at the University of British Columbia. I admired him very much for his sense of commitment, and his calm way of handling problems. I will dearly miss my friend, but I will often look to my memories of him when I need guidance and encouragement in life.

This is a great picture of you and Aaron; your mutual admiration and respect shines through so well in this shot. He will be sorely missed.
